POLITICIANS IN SPACE
With the construction of the spaceship Excelsior, America has ushered in the era of tourism space travel.
Invited on the maiden voyage are experts in different fields, as well as two popular actors (Lydia and Phillip), and two bickering senators (Janet and Raymond).
What should have been an uneventful trip becomes a matter of survival when a massive wormhole appears in the path of the Excelsior. The ship has no way of escaping, and eventually enters the spacial anomaly.
Lydia awakens in a hospital bed… 11,800 years in the future. She’s one of only five survivors. The others are: Phillip, the two senators, and the ship’s navigator.
Earth is now a paradise. No wars, no pollution, no social strife. Everyone is happy and fulfilled in their lives.
Lydia and Phillip want to get back to work. But there’s a problem: Real actors haven’t been part of the movie making process for the past eight thousand years. Artificial Intelligence handles it all, from writing the screenplay, to creating AI actors for the roles. Everything is… perfect.
Janet and Raymond also want to return to their old profession. However, politicians aren’t part of this future paradise. Yet the bickering politicians, one ultra liberal, the other ultra conservative, try to convince everyone in this future, perfect society that they can make things even better!
